On this International Girls in ICT Day, Toutes à l’école wishes to highlight an essential issue: the place of girls and women in technology and science. Today, worldwide, only one researcher out of three is a woman.
At Happy Chandara campus, this commitment comes to life through our Girls and Science programme, which encourages students to pursue ambitious academic pathways. To date, 53 former students are pursuing higher education in STEM fields, including 22 in technology-related subjects such as computer science, data science, cybersecurity and software development. Others are also pursuing studies in engineering, mathematics and fundamental sciences.
This momentum is also supported by our Girls in Tech initiative, designed to strengthen learning in technology and artificial intelligence. Through partnerships with companies in the sector, the French Tech community in Cambodia and organisations such as Sisters of Code, our students gain practical insight into careers in tech and meet inspiring women building their paths in these fields.
Giving girls the desire, confidence and means to innovate means enabling them to become the changemakers of tomorrow.
