When growing up in the slums, every school trip becomes an opportunity for empowerment.
For several days, our Year 9 students left Happy Chandara campus to discover Kampot and the surrounding area. For many girls from highly disadvantaged backgrounds, these school trips are a valuable opportunity to discover their country and learn beyond the classroom.
This trip was designed as both an educational and human experience focused on discovery, teamwork and self-development. Through sports activities, team challenges, reflection workshops and the exploration of Kampot’s landscapes, the students shared meaningful moments that strengthened their autonomy and team spirit. Between mangroves, beaches and colonial heritage, they also discovered one of Cambodia’s emblematic regions while creating lasting memories together.
