Congratulations to Manon Fernandes, recipient of the Tourism & Hospitality Trophy of the French in ASEAN. The award ceremony took place at the French Embassy in Singapore in the presence of Ambassador Stephen Marchisio. This distinction recognises the work carried out within Toutes à l’école.
As Quality, Hygiene and Food Safety Coordinator on Happy Chandara campus, Manon structured the Green Canteen project over the past two years. She supported the evolution of dietary practices, improved the quality of daily meals and strengthened the skills of the catering team, composed of 25 women from the village, working in a renovated kitchen supported by La Tribee des Gentils, the Alfred and Eugénie Baur Foundation, Talents et Partage and Les Amis de Rosita.
She also contributed to the development of the campus nutrition programmes in connection with the agroecological farm. More than 25 tonnes of organic vegetables are produced there each year, now covering 30 to 40% of the canteens’ vegetable needs.
This recognition highlights the lasting impact of this work on the health of the 1,700 students and all staff members.
