What does sponsoring mean?
It’s about establishing a lasting link with our pupils and accompanying them until they become young educated independent women.
2 types of sponsorship are available. All sponsorships imply a 20 € annual membership fee payable by direct debit in January as of the second year of the sponsorship.
• You can sponsor the school
Sponsoring the school in part pays teacher’s salaries and the school’s overheads (the purchase of school equipment, computers…..).
• You can sponsor a pupil
Sponsoring a pupil pays for the young girl’s education, the school canteen, her medical expenses, her school outings as well as her school uniform & stationery for the year.
To fully cover these costs, the cost of sponsoring a pupil is 30 €/month, each child has two sponsors.

Thanks to your sponsorship you offer a young girl from an underprivileged background the opportunity to go to school.
What does sponsoring a pupil provide?
Sponsoring a pupil pays for the pupil’s education: her lessons, her meals, her medical expenses, her school outings, her school uniform & her material for school
What does sponsoring the school provide?
Sponsoring the school helps pay teacher’s salaries and the school’s overheads.
Is my goddaughter sponsored by others?
Each child has two sponsors, the number needed to cover one child’s school fees for one year, an amount difficult for one family to finance. With two family sponsors there is a greater likelihood that the young girl’s sponsorship will last longer, at least for one of the families.
May I choose my goddaughter?
All pupils, without exception, share the same needs. Age cannot be used as criteria for choosing pupils. However we will do our utmost to satisfy joint requests from sponsors wishing to sponsor the same young girl.
What kind of contact do I have with my goddaughter?
At the end of each term you will receive from your goddaughter a little letter and / or drawing with her school results. You will therefore be able to follow her progress. Your letters are a great source of encouragement and hope for the pupils, and thanks to them they learn and understand that a sponsor in a foreign country is committed to their success, which will hopefully give them access to a better life.
May I meet my goddaughter?
We will be delighted to welcome you to our school, HAPPY CHANDARA. First of all and before your departure you should contact the association‘s office, Toutes à l’école, in France, so that we can organize your visit, and ensure that it takes place in the best possible conditions. We request you to furnish us with your preferred dates, which we will then check with the school. Once your visit date has been confirmed, we will put you in contact with someone at the school in Cambodia. On your return we will be delighted to share with you your impressions and your photographs, please don’t hesitate to send them to us!
What happens during my visit to my goddaughter’s school?
During your visit to our school, HAPPY CHANDARA, you can meet your goddaughter and her family, and join the teachers for lunch.
The meeting between sponsors and pupils is a very special moment, just as their feedback suggests.
May I write to my goddaughter?
You can establish direct contact with your goddaughter by sending her a letter marked with her name and class, and addressed to HAPPY CHANDARA School. Our young pupils discover your letters in front of their bilingual teachers who help them translate, hence you can write in French or in English.
May I send a gift to my goddaughter?
Gifts that arrive for some of the pupils can often generate a lot of disappointment and sadness amongst those who don’t receive any, which is why we request you to restrict the gifts you send to birthdays, and to privilege educational games, which can ultimately be used by the rest of the class.

How long does it take for letters and gifts to arrive?
You should allow about 2-3 weeks for your letters and parcels to reach their destination.
I sponsor the school. May I visit the school and meet pupils?
We will be delighted to introduce you to the school and its activities and for you to meet the pupils as well as our teachers.
What if I have to stop my sponsorship?
All sponsorships can be stopped with immediate effect. All you have to do is send a request in writing.
As sponsor of one of our pupils, you will receive at the end of each term her school results as well as a drawing or a little note. You can also write to her directly at the school and send her photographs. You simply have to indicate her name and class and send your letter to the following address:
